mktrue doctor
NAME
mktrue doctor — check that this machine has what new and the skill need
SYNOPSIS
mktrue doctor [--write] [--target <name>] [--bench <dir>]
DESCRIPTION
doctor inspects the machine, not a repository: the versions of Node, git and pnpm, whether mktrue and the skill are where they should be, and the one agent setting that matters, model.
It is read-only unless --write, which makes exactly one change: the skill link. Without it, doctor prints what to change and changes nothing.
--write makes exactly one change: the link that puts the skill mktrue ships where the agent looks for skills. Anything else already in that spot is left alone.
pnpm is checked at the version the templates pin, in a scratch folder doctor makes and removes. doctor never touches settings.json, hooks or PATH.
OPTIONS
--write- Make the one change: link the skill where the agent looks for it.
--target <name>- The agent target to render for. The default is claude-code.
--bench <dir>- The kit to render from. The default is the installed kit.
--help- Print the usage of every command.
EXIT STATUS
| 0 | true: the machine has what new and the skill need. |
| 1 | findings: model names an extended-context variant. |
| 3 | environment: something required is missing or too old. |
| 4 | a decision is needed: --write found something else where the link goes, and left it alone. |
EXAMPLES
mktrue doctor
What doctor prints depends on your machine: the tools on it and their versions. So there is no captured run here; run it on yours.
